Nothing like getting Shot and then Run over as well!

What a month! In the past month, I've had a MS Flare Up, Done Steroids, had 2 weeks of side effects after said steroids, had to go out on Short Term Disability (STD) at my job which in turn has cut my salary in 1/2 once I am even approved for said STD. Then a week ago today I got a call that my grandmother broke her hip. Last Monday I find out she broke her hip in 4 places and that she also had a heart attack (we are now guessing she had a heart attack which lead her to fall down and break her hip). By 8pm Monday night I was notified she wasn't doing real well and I decided to come up to see her. I booked a flight and I arrived by 4pm Tuesday just in time to wake her from a Morphine sleep to say "Gram, It's Me, I'm here and I love you". She smiled at me and mouthed back she loved me too, then closed her eyes again.

Then my sister Lisa, a hospice nurse told me that she was starting to show signs of "actively dying" and told me what some of them were. We stayed at the hospital that night till about midnight and Lisa returned to the hospital Wednesday morning at 6am and called me to get ready and come over she didn't have much time left. So my other sister, Mary and I got over to the hospital quickly and were there about 1 hour before my Gram's breathing started turning for the worse. All 3 of her grand-daughters around her, holding her and praying, she took her last breath shortly before 9am.

During all this excitement I knew I was getting sick, my left ear hurt before I even got on the airplane and really hurt after I got off and I am basically deaf in my left ear. With all the funeral arrangements, notifying everyone and trying to start cleaning out her personal belongings at the apartment etc. I put off going to the doctor until after the Funeral Yesterday (Saturday), but, I knew I had to go because it was now moving into my chest. And my voice had been going in and out for days. So now I have a double ear infection and possible bronchitis. Lovely. I mentioned the high doses of Steroids I was on a few weeks back for my MS and the stress I was under lately and of course I got sick...the doctor was not surprised to say the least. Now I am suppose to assist with cleaning out my grandmother's apartment this week, meet up with friends & family from PA and some how rest/recover. And of course my flare up symptoms have re-emerged since I am so sick and worn down, but are slightly better, THANK GOD for small things.

And I miss my dogs! They're cute little faces and daily cuddling always helps me feel better! :) I'm not looking for pity here, I just really needed to vent! I can't wait to get home and healthy again and back to normal, I'm exhausted!

I am so sorry for the loss of your grandmother. You need to take a step back and let someone else take care of some of these things that need to get done. You need to take care of yourself. Your grandmother would be saying the same thing. :-)
