After all the symptoms I described in my previous post and my bladder spasms increasing to extremely uncomfortable and painful porportions I gave in and Went to my Neuro on Friday. He put me on a high 3 day dose of Steroids (Dexamethasone), Ditropan XL and my usual Baclofen, Xanax XR and Gabapentin.
I have to get a follow up MRI in 2 weeks of my Thoracic Spine (It's been 2 years since I had one, also 2 years since my last BIG Flare) and I also am getting a Urologist Consult. Unfortunately these are all common MS issues during Flare's as you may know. And he agreed with me that the problem and cause of the Flare is Ultimately the heat this summer. Even though i live in AC all day long, the in and out of the cars, the walking the dogs, the small times I'm in the heat. BAD.
So Today was day 1 of the Steroids. Not too bad. As I recall my symptoms get worse before they get better while on the Roids. But no halucinations today...Woo Hoo!!!!! Though I do have the killer insomnia...almost 2am right now and I am WIDE awake. No sleep medications are even helping. But, my bladder has already "calmed" down a bit. Which is great!
So, we'll see what tomorrow brings. Thanks to everyone for their kind words and support during this challenging time. I realize it's a progressive disease, but, can't it progress super slower please! LOL :)
