It's been a super hot summer here in TN, just like much of the US and tomorrow we are going to have a heat index of 112. I think the heat for the first time in a few years is starting to affect my MS in a negative way. Tonight, I practically choked at a restaurant on soda. My husband was worried when I could not stop coughing. I had to leave the restaurant not to keep disturbing other guests. I got outside and had one big cough which seemed to make my throat relax (and forced me to get sick a little). My throat felt like it just tensed up and would not relax, a spasm if you will. I was not pleased. I've also been having some bladder issues and of course the usual "heat symptoms" of fatigue and spastic/painful legs. At least the usual symptoms for me.
Have you noticed any issues from the heat this summer? Does anyone else remember when they were young/pre MS and Summer was their favorite season? Now it is my least favorite, even behind Winter, which is hard to do because I am not a Winter fan.
The good news for me...I have ALOT going on this Fall and can't wait for it to begin! Travel, my 2 year wedding anniversary, parties and holidays! Is it October yet?!

That heat is awful. Definitely makes the symptoms worse...We have had a little reprieve in the northeast. Best wishes and happy anniversary! Mary
The heat kills me, zaps every ounce of energy I have, and makes the numbness worse. Come on winter!

Sorry to hear about Summer and what it's doing to you. I can relate some with each humid day making more pain where my lung used to be. Fall is coming soon. I hope in the next 30 days temps go back to a normal level. Keep looking to the fun ahead and don't look back on the trouble. Wishing you the best, my friend.
