Tonight we had our Annual Christmas Tree Trimming Party with our Friends. I've been doing this since I moved to TN in 2004 - this was the 5th one! :) Each person who comes to help trim the tree gets dinner and brings a new ornament each year to add to my collection. I love using personal ornaments that mean something to me! Pics Below.

Lanette,
Nice tree, you have a fakie like me, I can tell by the stand. Don't you love them though? So easy to put up, no watering, hardly any needles falling off! Congrats on the wedding too.
First off, it's good to be skeptical about Ty. It's not right for everyone. I "failed" C and R and because A and B are both interferons too, there wasn't much reason to try those.
My QOL has decreased a lot since last year at this time. This summer was horrible and the months of May and June teaching at school were a mess.
I have only had three infusions and I don't think anyone expects miracles with so few under the belt. Like three shots, it probably won't change too much.
I live in an area with 4 definite seasons so we're in snow and cold now so my summer symptoms have let up on me. I am also out on a leave from my teaching job until the end of January so I now can sleep as much as I want and I am and I am exercising slowly now.
The biggest thing for me is being out of work and not being depressed all the time. I couldn't tolerate the depression on Rebif and then I fell into it again as school started because it was just so much for me.
My major issue is fatigue and the nurses said maybe I would see some change with that about 8 months out. I also have some issues with cognitive stuff while teaching and my lower half is bothering me a little, not bad in comparison to past times, but I think a lot of that is due to exercising.
I love the once monthly infusion, my insurance covers it, I've seen improvement on my MRIs and I plan to continue and see where I am at 6 and then 9 and 12 months.
Have you talked to the company at all on the phone? They did all the legwork for me and answered so many questions. At first my neuro didn't want to Rx Ty but after the discussion of C and R and my QOL declining at age 38 and my high O band count, he finally said yes.
Then I said yippee and we started on this new trail. I have had times where I had bad issues with walking for months and then recovered to be "normal" again. That was in the beginning before I was even on any meds.
I have more happiness, I think more overall balance due to exercising and it is slow moooving (1 mile Walk Away The Pounds), just more positivity that I will get and continue to feel better.
I'm a singleton who just can't afford disability now and I make good money but I don't own a home or have lots of savings. I know I can do better even with the MS even if I don't look too sick to other people.
Not sure if this helps as it will be your decision but I hope my story is helping you to learn more about Ty. Remember that every person with MS is so different and so is their reaction to the meds.
There are some great posts about this at neurotalk and msworld.org about Ty and MS in general.
Good luck,
Weebs
Pretty tree! I have to admit that our tree is from Walgreens-- got it for 19.99 (and it kinda looks like it LOL..) I want to get a real tree again but our living room is oddly shaped, so we've been using a small fake tree on the half-wall between the porch and the living room. But this year I got crazy and put up the tall, narrow bargain tree in a tight spot. Looks a little like Charlie Brown's.
And I also enjoy the change of seasons on your homepage. I think I dorked you out back when I started coming to your site when I gushed about your pretty fall homepage....Yes, Lanette, I am a BIG dork! But you've probably already gathered that. Enjoy your holiday season...!
Jen
That's a really neat idea!
